WHAT'S A BRO?

Do we dare ask one of the deepest questions ever proposed?  After much soul searching, weeks of fasting, prayer, vision questing, and meditation, we have come to a startling realization.  "Bro" needs to be defined or re-defined.

Depending on who you ask, the definition of Bro has a wide spectrum of answers.  The definition of "Bro" is as elusive as the Costa Rican Jaguar.

Some say a "Bro" is a "dude" (lesser than a full bro) that comes somewhere more than 20 minutes inland of a coastal area. These dudes think they're bros but really they aren't.  Often times they're "Ya-Brahs" because that's the response elicited when answering a Yes or No question.  A simple yes will not do for these dudes, they cannot resist replying "Ya-Brah."  Some dudes at Urban Dictionary have already done a pretty decent job of flushing out all the things that Bro's aren't. So Instead of covering all the bases of what Bros are not let us spend our time on defining what a Bro IS!

BRO: Shortened version of the English word BROTHER (Merriam-Webster's = a male who has the same parents as another or one parent in common with another).  Often times an acquaintance can go from a "guy" to a "dude" and eventually to a "Bro".  The closest familial bond between men.  As Tommy Boy so elequently put it "Brothers dont shake hands, brothers gotta hug!"

This website seeks to restore the term BRO to its original intent.  We refuse to stand by and let the term BRO get Hi-jacked.  We commit to bringing dignity back to BRO's worldwide. We exist to make bro fists, bro hugs, and bro-shakes (combo'd into bro-hugs) commonplace in society.  A Bro is like the ultimate spotter (seen to the left) standing ever-ready to assist a Bro in a time of need.

But how can we be real Bros if we don't share the same parent?  Well we are in luck.  By Faith in Jesus we have become adopted as Sons/Daughters by God the Father (Romans 8:14-17) & by the filling/new life in the Holy Spirit.  In Mathew 12 Jesus is asked a question about why he doesn't go out of a crowded house and meet his mother and brothers.  He answers this question in an interesting fashion - by asking a question in response... Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”  Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers.  Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”

True family, true Bros, are those who do the will of the Father. As Bros we seek to serve, love and restore relationships, both to God and to our brothers and sisters (those who know Dad and those who don't).  Jesus instructed us "let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." (Matt 5).  Time to Bro-down and start serving... get equipped, hunger &thirst for righteous Brosources. Bros are disciples who make disciples.

Real Bros rep Jesus - the only Source.   #BroSource.
